 Goals
 

 

Direct Support for Patients & Families

  1. Emergency Assistance Grants – Help families pay for urgent needs like transportation to appointments, hospital stays, or unexpected bills.

2.  Medication & Treatment Support – Cover costs for prescriptions, infusions, therapies, or out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by insurance.

  3.  Travel Assistance – Provide gas cards, rideshare vouchers, or shuttle services to major hospitals/clinics where sickle cell specialists are located.

  4.    Support Groups & Counseling – Fund mental health therapy sessions, peer groups, and family counseling tailored to living with sickle cell disease and Autism. Funding for speech, Occupational and social skills therapy not covered by insurance.  

 5.    Scholarships – Educational scholarships for students with sickle cell, or Autism or their siblings.

 6.    Special Events - Membership for trampoline park, and Autism gym funding, sporting events. 

 

 

🔹 Healthcare & Research Support

 1.    Fund Clinical Research – Partner with hospitals/universities to advance research into cures (like gene therapy or bone marrow transplants).

 2.    Support Specialist Clinics – Donate to community clinics for expanded staff, new equipment, or infusion centers.

 3.    Blood Drive Partnerships – Help fund blood drives, since sickle cell patients often need transfusions.

 4.    Training Programs – Provide funding for doctors, nurses, and emergency staff training on sickle cell care.

5. Provide CLS or Respit care for parents or the legal guardians.

 

🔹 Education & Awareness

  1.    Awareness Campaigns – Fund community events, social media campaigns, and health fairs to spread knowledge about sickle cell.

  2.  School Advocacy – Create toolkits for teachers/schools to support children with sickle cell (e.g., 504 plans, awareness training).         

  3.    Community Workshops – Host events teaching families how to manage pain crises, diet, and lifestyle for sickle cell care.

 

 

🔹 Long-Term Community Impact

  1.    Wellness Programs – Yoga, nutrition, mental health resources, and holistic support programs for patients.

  2.    Housing & Stability Support – Partner with nonprofits to provide housing assistance for patients who need long hospital stays.

  3.    Policy & Advocacy – Use funds to push for stronger legislation, better healthcare coverage, and more federal funding for sickle cell disease.
